InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU – The purchase price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from independent smallholders in Riau Province increased for the September 9–15, 2026 period, with the price for nine-year-old oil palm reaching Rp3,943.46 per kilogram.
The latest price was determined by the Riau Provincial Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Pricing Team and represents an increase of Rp64.62 per kilogram from the previous period’s Rp3,878.84 per kilogram.
According to the Minutes of Meeting on the Determination of FFB Purchase Prices for Independent Smallholders in Riau, Number 33/TBS-TR/IX-2026, issued on Tuesday, September 8, the increase reflects changes in the components used in the provincial FFB pricing formula.
The average CPO price used in the calculation was set at Rp15,972.25 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the average palm kernel price stood at Rp14,068.16 per kilogram.
The K index used in determining the FFB price was set at 93.34 percent, while the value assigned to shells was Rp24.76 per kilogram.
For the September 9–15 period, FFB prices vary according to the age of the oil palm trees.
The price for three-year-old oil palm was set at Rp3,050.87 per kilogram, while four-year-old trees were valued at Rp3,404.24 per kilogram.
Five-year-old oil palm was priced at Rp3,654.95 per kilogram, followed by Rp3,796.50 per kilogram for six-year-old trees.
For seven-year-old oil palm, the price reached Rp3,881.77 per kilogram, while eight-year-old trees were set at Rp3,928.95 per kilogram.
The highest price in the main productive age range was recorded for nine-year-old trees at Rp3,943.46 per kilogram.
For trees aged 10–20 years, the price was set at Rp3,901.79 per kilogram. The price then gradually declined as tree age increased.
FFB from 21-year-old trees was priced at Rp3,835.48 per kilogram, while 22-year-old trees reached Rp3,779.26 per kilogram.
For 23-year-old oil palm, the price was set at Rp3,672.62 per kilogram. The price for 24-year-old trees stood at Rp3,607.02 per kilogram, followed by Rp3,553.17 for 25-year-old trees.
FFB prices continued to decline for older plantations, with 26-year-old trees at Rp3,533.79 per kilogram, 27-year-old trees at Rp3,503.79, 28-year-old trees at Rp3,446.96, and 29-year-old trees at Rp3,405.22 per kilogram.
The lowest price in the schedule was recorded for 30-year-old oil palm at Rp3,309.00 per kilogram.
The latest adjustment provides an important reference for independent smallholders in Riau when assessing the value of their FFB during the current trading period.
However, the provincial price determination does not necessarily represent the actual purchase price received by farmers at individual mills. Actual field-level prices may vary depending on company or mill policies, fruit quality, location and the terms of each transaction.
The provincial pricing mechanism therefore remains an important benchmark, while farmers still need to consider local market conditions when determining the final selling value of their FFB. (T2)
