East Kalimantan Raises Palm Oil FFB Prices to Rp3,604.66 per Kg in Second Half of August 2026

InfoSAWIT, SAMARINDA – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for smallholder oil palm plantations in East Kalimantan increased again during the second half of August 2026, with mature palms aged 10 to 20 years reaching Rp3,604.66 per kilogram.

The latest price was up Rp42.97 per kg, or approximately 1.21%, from Rp3,561.69 per kg during the previous pricing period.

According to information reviewed by InfoSAWIT from the East Kalimantan Plantation Agency, the FFB price applies to partnered smallholders for the August 16–31, 2026 period.

The increase came alongside higher weighted-average CPO and palm kernel prices, providing additional support for the latest FFB price adjustment.

FFB Prices Rise Across Several Age Categories

The East Kalimantan government’s latest pricing schedule shows that FFB prices varied according to the age of the oil palm trees.

The prices for the August 16–31 period were:

3-year-old palms: Rp3,165.26/kg

4-year-old palms: Rp3,266.12/kg

5-year-old palms: Rp3,356.49/kg

6-year-old palms: Rp3,430.06/kg

7-year-old palms: Rp3,479.56/kg

8-year-old palms: Rp3,535.37/kg

9-year-old palms: Rp3,579.06/kg

10–20-year-old palms: Rp3,604.66/kg

21-year-old palms: Rp3,552.31/kg

22-year-old palms: Rp3,480.91/kg

23-year-old palms: Rp3,403.84/kg

24-year-old palms: Rp3,365.39/kg

25-year-old palms: Rp3,333.81/kg

The highest price in the latest schedule was recorded for palms aged between 10 and 20 years at Rp3,604.66 per kg.

Higher CPO and Kernel Prices Support FFB Increase

The latest FFB adjustment was supported by movements in the underlying palm oil commodities.

For the second half of August 2026, East Kalimantan’s weighted-average CPO price was set at Rp15,434.53 per kg. This represented an increase of Rp203.98 per kg from the previous period.

The weighted-average palm kernel price also rose to Rp13,598.85 per kg, up Rp77.37 per kg compared with the previous pricing period.

The combination of higher CPO and kernel values helped lift the benchmark used in determining FFB prices for partnered smallholders in the province.

The official FFB price serves as a reference for transactions involving partnered smallholders. Actual prices received by farmers may vary depending on individual transaction arrangements and conditions at the plantation or mill level.

The latest increase nevertheless provides a positive signal for oil palm growers in East Kalimantan, particularly those with mature and productive plantations.

For farmers, movements in CPO and palm kernel prices remain important because they directly influence the regional FFB pricing mechanism and ultimately affect plantation income. (T2)
