InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for plasma smallholders in North Sumatra increased for the August 19–25, 2026 pricing period, with oil palm trees aged between 10 and 20 years reaching Rp3,917.50 per kilogram.
The price rose by Rp15.40 per kg from Rp3,902.10 per kg in the previous pricing period, according to the North Sumatra Provincial FFB Pricing Team.
The latest prices were determined during a meeting of the Provincial Pricing Team for Fresh Fruit Bunches produced by plasma smallholders, held on August 19, 2026, at the Padi Hall of the North Sumatra Agriculture and Food Security Agency in Medan.
Based on information obtained by InfoSAWIT from the agency, FFB prices for younger oil palm trees were set at Rp3,295.82 per kg for three-year-old palms, Rp3,513.71 per kg for four-year-old palms, and Rp3,636.15 per kg for five-year-old palms.
Prices continued to increase across the productive age categories, with six-year-old palms priced at Rp3,744.44 per kg, seven-year-old palms at Rp3,720.84 per kg, and eight-year-old palms at Rp3,848.60 per kg.

The highest FFB price during the period was recorded for 21-year-old palms at Rp3,921.12 per kg, while the key 10–20-year-old age category was set at Rp3,917.50 per kg.
For the August 19–25 period, the average local and export CPO price used in the calculation was Rp15,543.87 per kg, excluding VAT. The average local palm kernel price was Rp13,228.60 per kg, while the K Index was set at 94.15%.
The increase provides a modest boost for plasma smallholders in North Sumatra as palm oil prices continue to influence farm-gate FFB values across Indonesia's producing regions. (T2)
