JAKARTA – In the holy month of Ramadhan, crude palm oil (CPO) demands usually increase significantly. But this Ramadhan, the CPO and the derivative demands were so lethargic and beyond expectation. Indonesian Palm Oil Businessmen Association (IPOBA) said so, Monday (21/7/2014).
Executive Director of IPOBA, Fadhil Hasan described, in the first semester 2014, the trade exports of Indonesian CPO and the derivatives were not so good. The export volumes just reaced 9,8 millionsof tonsor decreasing 7,7% in the first semester if being compared to the same period in last year which reaching 10,6 millionsof tons.
“Year on year base, the decreasing Indonesian CPO export volume happened for the demands from India up to 37% from 3,39 millionsof tonsin the first semester 2013 to be 2,12 millionsof tonsin the first semester 2014,” he said to InfoSAWIT.
Meanwhile, he continued, the export of CPO and the derivatives in June 2014 started to increase 5% if it was compared to the previous month, from 1,7 millionsof tonsin May to be 1,79 millionsof tonsin June. (T3)
