InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia's palm oil sector is accelerating its digital transformation through a new talent development initiative that combines higher education, industry collaboration, and artificial intelligence-based enterprise technology. A total of 17 scholarship recipients from the Software Engineering Technology (TRPL) program at Citra Widya Edukasi Palm Oil Polytechnic (Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE) have officially begun the mySAP365 AIX 2026 Batch-2 internship program, supported by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP).
The internship, launched on July 28, 2026, is organized in partnership with PT Lembaga Aplikasi Teknologi (LAT) Trisakti and is designed to prepare a new generation of digital professionals capable of supporting technological modernization across Indonesia's plantation industry.
During the four-month program, running from August through December 2026, participants will be assigned to plantation companies where they will gain practical experience implementing modular Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
Azhar Basyir Rantawi, Head of the Software Engineering Technology Program at Poltek CWE, said the internship extends beyond conventional ERP training by emphasizing software customization tailored to plantation operations.
"Students will undergo intensive modular mySAP365 AIX coding training, enabling them to customize ERP systems for plantation operations while integrating mobile technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence," Azhar said in a statement received by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (July 29).
He noted that the hands-on experience is expected to equip students with competencies increasingly demanded by the palm oil industry, where digital solutions are playing a growing role in operational management, data analytics, business decision-making, and efficiency improvements.
Meanwhile, PT LAT Trisakti representative Saiful Bahri said the company is committed to developing the next generation of mySAP365 AIX developers capable of designing AI-powered modular ERP systems for plantation businesses.
"As digital adoption accelerates across the plantation sector, the demand for developers who understand modular ERP, AI-driven decision support, and audit-ready workflows will continue to grow. Building this new generation of digital talent is essential for ensuring that plantation digitalization remains sustainable," Saiful said.
Supported by collaboration between academia, industry, and BPDP, the initiative is expected to strengthen Indonesia's digital workforce while helping modernize the country's palm oil industry through advanced technologies, improved operational efficiency, and globally competitive human resources.
