Mahindra Unveils OJA 3140 Compact Tractor to Accelerate Indonesia’s Agricultural Mechanization

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Mahindra Farm Equipment (FE), through its Indonesian distributor RMA Indonesia, has officially launched the Mahindra OJA 3140, a new 40-horsepower compact tractor, during Inagritech 2026 in Jakarta, underscoring its commitment to advancing agricultural mechanization and supporting Indonesia’s food security agenda.

The introduction of the OJA 3140 comes as Indonesia intensifies efforts to modernize its farming sector in response to labor shortages and the growing need to improve productivity. By integrating modern machinery into farming operations, Mahindra aims to help farmers cultivate land more efficiently, increase crop yields, and reduce operational costs.

The launch also reinforces RMA Indonesia’s long-term strategy to contribute to the transformation of one of Indonesia’s most important economic sectors. According to data from Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS), agriculture accounted for 12.67% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2026, highlighting the increasing importance of modern agricultural equipment in sustaining sectoral growth.

Speaking during the product unveiling attended by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), Toto Suharto, Country Manager of RMA Indonesia, emphasized that food security requires more than farmers’ dedication—it also depends on the adoption of the right technology.

“Food security requires not only hard work but also the right technology. We believe mechanization is no longer an option but a necessity to help farmers improve productivity, efficiency, and the sustainability of their farming businesses. Through the Mahindra OJA 3140, we aim to provide a solution that truly meets the needs of Indonesian farmers,” Toto said.

The Mahindra OJA 3140 is powered by a 29.5 kW (40 HP) engine and features an 8-forward/8-reverse Synchro Shuttle transmission, four-wheel drive (4WD), 370 mm ground clearance, and a 950-kilogram lifting capacity. It is paired with the Mahindra Paddyvator V6, an implement designed to enhance land preparation with greater speed and precision.

Its combination of power, maneuverability, and fuel efficiency enables the tractor to perform a wide range of agricultural tasks, including land preparation, planting, crop maintenance, and farm logistics. The compact design also makes it well suited for small- and medium-scale farmers seeking versatile machinery with lower operating costs.

Toto noted that the introduction of the OJA 3140 represents only the beginning of Mahindra’s broader vision for Indonesia.

“Going forward, we will continue introducing new innovations, expanding our distribution network, and strengthening after-sales services to ensure Indonesian farmers receive comprehensive mechanization solutions,” he added.

Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector appointed RMA Indonesia as its exclusive distributor in Indonesia in 2024, marking the start of a strategic partnership aimed at expanding the company’s presence in the country.

Recognized as the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by production volume, Mahindra has supplied mechanization solutions to millions of farmers worldwide for more than eight decades. Leveraging its global expertise, advanced technology, and expanding dealer and after-sales network in Indonesia, Mahindra and RMA Indonesia are confident they can play a significant role in fostering a more modern, productive, and sustainable agricultural sector.
