InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm growers in North Sumatra increased during the pricing period of 22–28 July 2026, following the latest decision by the province’s FFB Pricing Team.
Under the new pricing schedule, FFB produced from oil palm trees aged 10 to 20 years—the benchmark category—rose by Rp41.25 per kilogram to Rp3,925.49/kg, reflecting stronger pricing supported by movements in crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel markets.
According to data compiled by InfoSAWIT from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency, FFB prices vary according to tree age. Plantations aged three years were priced at Rp3,345.89/kg, while four-year-old palms reached Rp3,568.02/kg. Trees aged five, six, seven, and eight years were valued at Rp3,691.17/kg, Rp3,799.15/kg, Rp3,766.97/kg, and Rp3,899.69/kg, respectively.
For older plantations, nine-year-old palms were set at Rp3,934.74/kg, while trees aged 21 years recorded the highest price at Rp3,972.36/kg. Prices gradually declined for older plantations, reaching Rp3,401.27/kg for trees aged 30 years.
The Pricing Team also established the provincial reference prices for palm oil products, setting crude palm oil (CPO) at Rp15,563.64/kg and palm kernel at Rp14,508.25/kg, with the K Index determined at 93.76%.
The weekly FFB prices serve as an official benchmark for transactions between independent and plasma smallholders and palm oil mills in North Sumatra. However, actual purchase prices in the field may vary depending on commercial agreements, fruit quality, transportation costs, and local market conditions. (T2)
