InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia's state-owned palm oil marketing agency, PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN), recorded another withdrawal (WD) during its crude palm oil (CPO) tender on Monday (July 27), reflecting softer market sentiment as Malaysian palm oil futures declined from a 15-week high.
The highest bid for CPO reached Rp15,677 per kilogram, down Rp91/kg, or approximately 0.58%, from the previous highest offer of Rp15,768/kg recorded on Friday (July 24).
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai tender opened at Rp15,800/kg, but concluded with a withdrawal after the highest bid reached Rp15,677/kg. Meanwhile, the Franco Teluk Bayur tender opened at Rp15,670/kg, with the highest offer standing at Rp15,475/kg before also being withdrawn.
The weaker domestic tender coincided with declining palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange (BMD).
According to Reuters, the benchmark October palm oil contract fell RM39, or 0.83%, to RM4,683 (US$1,147.79) per metric ton in early trading on Monday. The decline followed last week's rally to the highest level in 15 weeks, as weaker competing vegetable oils and lower crude oil prices weighed on market sentiment.
