KPBN CPO Price Falls Rp73/kg, While Malaysian Palm Oil Futures Close Higher

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) price at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was set at Rp16,025 per kilogram on Friday (September 4, 2026), down Rp73/kg or around 0.45% from Rp16,098/kg recorded on Thursday.

According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price at Franco Dumai was established at Rp16,025/kg.

At Talang Duku, the CPO price opened at Rp15,775/kg, but the tender was withdrawn (WD), with the highest bid recorded at Rp15,545/kg. Meanwhile, the Franco Teluk Bayur price opened at Rp15,825/kg before the tender was also withdrawn, with the highest bid reaching Rp15,523/kg.

The decline in Indonesia’s KPBN CPO price came despite a stronger performance in the Malaysian palm oil futures market.

CPO futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange advanced on Friday, supported by concerns over the potential impact of the El Niño weather phenomenon on palm oil production in Malaysia and Indonesia.

According to Reuters, the benchmark CPO futures contract for November 2026 delivery rose RM27 per tonne, or 0.55%, to close at RM4,931 per tonne.

The benchmark contract also gained approximately 0.76% over the week, recovering part of the losses recorded during the previous week.

However, competing vegetable oils moved in the opposite direction. The most-active soybean oil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell 0.19%, while palm oil futures on the same exchange declined 0.39%. Soybean oil futures on the Chicago Board of Trade also slipped 0.46%.
