InfoSAWIT, MAMUJU – The West Sulawesi Provincial Environmental Agency (DLH) held an assessment meeting for the Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal) document of PT Mitra Andalan Sawit at the Grand Maleo & Convention Hotel in Mamuju on Thursday (21/8/2025).

The meeting, which began at 09:00 WITA, was officially opened via Zoom Meeting by the Head of Sulbar DLH, Zulkifli Manggazali. The main agenda included a discussion of the Environmental Impact Analysis (Andal), Environmental Management Plan (RKL), and Environmental Monitoring Plan (RPL) documents related to the proposed development of a palm oil processing industry in Central Mamuju Regency.

The activity was led by the Head of the Environmental Management and Compliance Division, Andi Alffianti. According to her, the meeting aimed to verify the suggestions and feedback previously given by the Amdal Assessment Commission (KPA) and the Central Mamuju Regency KPA Technical Team on the documents submitted by PT Mitra Andalan Sawit.

In his remarks, Zulkifli affirmed the obligation to prepare an Amdal in accordance with Article 4 of Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. “Every business and/or activity plan that has an impact on the environment is required to have an Amdal, UKL-UPL, or SPPL,” he said, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from Sulbar DLH on Tuesday (26/8/2025). He added that this step is also a directive from Sulbar Governor Suhardi Duka to balance environmental sustainability with sustainable economic growth. “This is a form of regional commitment to ensuring that development proceeds in harmony,” Zulkifli said.

Previously, the DLH Technical Team conducted a review of the Terms of Reference Form on January 22, 2025. Through this assessment meeting, the local government ensured that the Andal, RKL, and RPL prepared by PT Mitra Andalan Sawit are in line with the established terms of reference, which will serve as the basis for planning an environmentally friendly palm oil processing industry.
