North Sumatra Fresh Fruit Bunch Prices Ease Slightly for July 29–August 4 Period

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for oil palm growers in North Sumatra edged lower for the pricing period of July 29 to August 4, 2026, according to the province's official FFB Pricing Committee.

Based on data compiled by InfoSAWIT from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency, the benchmark price for oil palm aged 10–20 years—the category widely used as the industry reference—declined by Rp4.47 per kilogram to Rp3,962.27/kg.

The latest pricing also showed variations across different plantation age groups. FFB from three-year-old palms was set at Rp3,343.86/kg, increasing progressively with tree maturity to Rp3,930.38/kg for nine-year-old palms.

For mature plantations, prices ranged from Rp3,962.27/kg for palms aged 10–20 years to Rp3,968.27/kg for 21-year-old trees before gradually declining for older plantations. FFB harvested from 30-year-old palms was priced at Rp3,400.09/kg.

The committee also established the reference crude palm oil (CPO) price at Rp15,497.70/kg, while the palm kernel price was set at Rp14,704.29/kg. The provincial K Index, which determines the revenue-sharing formula between mills and growers, was fixed at 93.76% for the current pricing period.

North Sumatra is one of Indonesia's largest palm oil-producing provinces, making its weekly FFB pricing an important benchmark for growers, mills, and market participants across the region.

The provincial pricing serves as an official reference established by local authorities. However, actual prices received by growers may vary depending on commercial agreements, transportation costs, fruit quality, and individual mill purchasing policies. (T2)
