ALPF Agency of Mukomuko Prohibits Rubber Farmers Planting Palm Oil

MUKOMUKO - Agriculture, Livestock, Plantation and Forestry (ALPF) Agency of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, prohibits local rubber farmers to converts their plants become palm oil.

“The farmers want to convert their rubber to be palm oil due to the lower of rubber price. But we are prohibit it,” said Head of Agriculture sector of AFPL Agency Mukomuko, Wahyu Hidayat, on Saturday (13/12/2014), as published by Antara Bengkulu.

He explained, rubber farmers in Selagan Raya District came into them and complained, cause for two years they cannot tapping their rubber cause the lower sell price of rubber for farmers level.

Recently, the sell price of rubber in farmer’s level priced in Rp3.500 per kilogram. So that, he said, the farmers want to convert their plantations commodity and asking for the assistance of palm oil seedlings. (T3)
