JOHANNESBURG – A new biofuel project has been launched in Marblehall in Limpopo Province, located in eastern South Africa, probably being one of world answer in decreasing carbon emission in 50 per cent flight industry.

Cited by Bernama, on Thursday (11/12/2014), the project is a scientist innovation by flight and agriculture industries, also as the result of science research for years.

The Chairman of Environment Group in South African Airways ( SAA ), John Cruickshank, said the renewable fuel will used by flight companies which are conformed in green environment implementation.

Besides, he added, the project is one of SAA program to converts conventional jet fuel by biofuel from 50 per cent fossil fuel used in Johannesburg. “We are looking for 20 million liters in the end of 2017 and about 400-500 million liters in the end of 2023,” he said.

Cruickshank stated, the goal of this project is to make SAA as the most sustainable flight agent in the world. (T3)
