KUCHING – Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem has warned investors against encroaching onto state land and communal land to develop any sort of plantation prior to getting approval from the Sarawak Land and Survey Department.
He said to The Sun Daily, on Thursday (11/12/2014) he had instructed the Sarawak Land and Survey Department to monitor such activities and take immediate action against these investors.
On another matter, the chief minister also said that he had instructed the Sarawak Forest Department to check on alleged illegal logging in the forest near the Bengoh Resettlement Scheme (BRS) and Kampung Danu in Penrissen, about 50 km from Kuching.
On oil palm fruits, Adenan said no mill was allowed to buy fruits from unlicensed sellers, stolen fruits or fruits harvested from oil palm cultivated illegally on government land. (T4)
