InfoSAWIT, RIAU – PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) is reinforcing collaboration with the central government, regional administrations, lawmakers, law enforcement authorities, and local communities to advance sustainable oil palm plantation management through the development of cooperative-based smallholder partnership (plasma) schemes in Riau Province.
According to an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (July 23, 2026), the initiative was carried out through a series of meetings between the company's board of directors and key stakeholders in Rokan Hulu Regency as part of efforts to strengthen transparent, accountable, and equitable governance of its plasma partnership program.
During a working visit on Thursday (July 16), the company's executives met with representatives of the Rokan Hulu District Prosecutor's Office, the Regent of Rokan Hulu, and the former Regent of Rokan Hulu. Discussions focused on the planned development of the plasma program while seeking support from the local government for cooperation involving the company, cooperatives, and surrounding communities.
The meetings were attended by PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara's Director of Partnership and Plasma, Seger Budiarjo, Director of Operations Tuhu Bangun, and Legal Director I Nyoman Suparta. The company emphasized that cross-institutional support is essential to strengthening coordination in implementing the plasma program while ensuring legal certainty for all stakeholders involved.
The engagement continued on Friday (July 17) with a meeting involving House of Representatives (DPR RI) Commission VI member Achmad and Riau Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) member Budiman Lubis. Discussions centered on the management of plasma plantations in Rokan Hulu Regency, including land status alignment, partnership models, cooperative empowerment, and stronger collaboration between the company and local communities.
During the meeting, PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara reaffirmed its commitment to implementing a single-management system for plasma operations in partnership with cooperatives or other designated institutions. The model is designed to prioritize transparency, accountability, and fairness for all participating stakeholders.
The company also stated that the partnership framework will be formulated based on independent assessments, ensuring that both operational mechanisms and benefit-sharing arrangements are objective, transparent, and supported by credible analysis.
Beyond the partnership framework, participants also stressed the importance of maintaining integrity throughout the transition period of plasma management. Empowering local vendors, creating employment opportunities for local residents, and strengthening the role of regional governments in identifying and verifying prospective beneficiaries were among the key priorities agreed upon during the discussions.
Through this collaborative approach, Riau is expected to become a model for inclusive, equitable, and sustainable plasma plantation management, built on strong cooperation among companies, government institutions, cooperatives, and local communities.
