InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia's state-run palm oil trading platform, PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN), recorded a withdrawn (WD) crude palm oil (CPO) tender on Wednesday (July 15), after the highest bid failed to meet the seller's expectations amid softer market sentiment.
According to market data obtained by InfoSAWIT, the highest bid for Franco Kuala Tanjung reached Rp15,589 per kilogram, while the opening offer stood at Rp15,700/kg. The result marked a decline of Rp96/kg, or approximately 0.61%, compared with Tuesday's highest transaction level of Rp15,685/kg.
Other major KPBN tenders also ended without successful transactions. The FOB Talang Duku tender opened at Rp15,500/kg, with the highest bid reaching Rp15,371/kg, while the Franco Palembang tender opened at Rp15,550/kg and also received a top bid of Rp15,371/kg, both resulting in withdrawals.
The weaker domestic bidding activity coincided with a decline in Malaysian crude palm oil (CPO) futures, which extended losses during Wednesday's trading session following weaker import demand from India, one of the world's largest vegetable oil consumers.
According to Bloomberg, benchmark palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell as much as 0.6%, reversing gains posted over the previous two trading sessions. Market sentiment weakened after reports showed that India's palm oil imports declined by approximately 11% in June 2026 compared with the previous month.
The reduction in Indian purchases has intensified concerns over rising inventories across major producing countries, particularly Malaysia.
Official data released last week showed that Malaysia's palm oil inventories climbed to their highest level since February 2026, driven by an approximately 8% increase in production. The combination of stronger output and weaker import demand has heightened market concerns over a potential supply surplus in the coming months.
