KUALA LUMPUR – A well-known expert team has been delegated to make a comprehensive, independent, and scientific study about what is called as High Carbon Stocks (HCS) in their converted context to become palm oil plantations.

According to the official statement of Sustainable Palm Oil Manifesto (HCS Study) that published by Sime Darby in its official website, on this early November, mentioned that the study will calculates the consideration of social-economic, include the national and people rights to the development.

The team is consist of well-known experts from different academic background, together will make a technical team for High Carbon Stock (HCS) study. “The technical committee lead by the Chief Research Scientist di Australia Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), John Raison,” he said.

The technical committee will supported by Research Consultant team. The technical team will give guidance and monitoring the development of this Research Consultant in make the deep scientific analysis. Besides, the technical committee will prepare the synthesis draft report according to the research, and giving a recommendation to be considerate by the stakeholders, includes the government.

 While the members of Referrals Committee consist by the biggest palm oil producer in the world such are, Asian Agri, IOI Corporation Berhad, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, Musim Mas Group dan Sime Darby Plantation; global agribusiness group such are Cargill and Wilmar International; and a consumable-goods company such as Unilever.
