13 Thousand Palm Oil Seedlings for Farmer Groups

AGAM – As four of farmer groups and poor people in Kurao Jorong Pasar Durian, Nagari Manggopoh village, Lubuk Basing regency, on Thursday (06/11/2014), get the assistant of 13 thousand palm oil seedlings. The assistant were given directly by the Governor of West Sumatera Irwan Prayitno.

Quoted from Padang Media, in the occasion, PT AMP, PT Kamu and PT Inang Sari also take a part to give 500 palm oil seeds and the regional government of Agam gives the assistant of fertilizers and sprayer to the farmer group. Through the assistant they hope can increasing the welfare of the farmer groups and local poor people.

Irwan added, the increasing of agriculture sector is aims to make the increasing of welfare and independence from the farmers.  While the planting of palm oil seedlings can using the local empty land, or optimized the local plantation areas.

He explained, West Sumatera has many main-agriculture sectors in it, there are palm oil, coconut, coffee and cocoa. The agricultural assistant that delivered to Agam area more or less than RP2,1 billion, includes Rp700 million from National Budget (APBN), by the total of the seedlings more than 182 thousand seedlings. “We hope the farmers can effort-maximized the assistant,” he said.
