Wildfire Scorch Oil Palm Plantation in Muara Enim

MUARA ENIM – Oil palm and rubber plantations as 223,5 hectares owned by the villagers of Kayu Ara Batu village, Muara Belide district, Muara Enim regency, were scorched by the fires.

“We got reported that sbout 223,5 hectares area owned by 65 villagers of Kayu Ara Batu village, burnt. On Wednesday we will send a joint team to the location to see directly the condition ,”said the Head Officer of Agriculture Agency in Muara Enim regency, Mat Kasrun, Tuesday (21st October 2014), as published by Kabar Sumatera.

The joint team, he explained, were come from Agriculture Agency, Civil Service Police Unit, Region’s Disaster Response Agency (BPBD) and Muara Belide District’s Government. The team will record the owner, the wide of the burnt areas, how much plants burnt, the cause of the wildfire and some losses caused by the fires. (T3)
