JAKARTA – The fire in the forest and area which happens in every year in Indonesia are caused by people, 99%. Deputy of Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) in Prevention and Readiness, Dody Ruswandi said onThursday (24/7/2014).
“Last year 99% were burnt by people, there were about 100 men arrested,” he said to InfoSAWIT in Jakarta.
Beside that, he welcomed the launch of Global Forest Watch Fires (GFW-Fires), an online platform to monitor and respon the fire in the forest and area in Southern Asia.
“We welcome and support all the breakthrough to increase the prevention than to distinguish the fire. By the implementation of GFW-Fires, this will be the control of national smoke system,” he explained. (T3)
