PANGKAL PINANG –The farmers’ palm oil fruit in Bangka Belitung (Babel) Island is often bought by the companies and it is lower than the price in highest retail price (HRP).
So the Governor of Babel Island, Rustam Effendi asked the businessmen to obey the HRP of the fruit. This is to increase the farmers’ income in the region.
“Most of the businessmen buy the palm oil fruit lower than the HRP which has been decided. This makes the farmers get loss,” he said, Wednesday (6/5)
Rustam explained as quoted from Inilah, based on the decision of Agriculture, Plantation, and Livestock Agency with the palm oil plantation association and the businessmen, the HRP of the fruit is around more than Rp 1.000, but the farmers’ fruit is Rp 800 per kilogram.
“We want, the businessmen obey the HRP which is agreed; if it is not obeyed, they will be sued,” he emphasized.
He continued, his side will call the head of the Agency, Assistent II in Economy, the palm oil plantation association, and palm oil businessmen to explain why the farmers selling fruit is low. “We want, each side could explain, why the farmers’ fruit price is cheap and what is the solution,” he said.
