PERAWANG - Some numbers of palm oil farmers complain the fruit price which is only Rp1.000-1.200 per kilogram. It has been for a week. The farmers hoped, the price could increase again knowing that the food commodity price increases in the fasting days.
“The fruit price is cheap. There is no increasing price in this week,” a farmers in Perawang, Sobir said, Monday (4/5).
He hoped, the palm oil fruit price could be Rp1.500 per kilogram. It is afraid, the fruit price will be cheaper because it always happens when Ramadhan days will come.
The same thing was told by palm oil farmer in Village of Buatan II, Aldi. He complained, the fruit is Rp 1.00o per kilogram. The collectors directly take it, about Rp 1.000 per kilogram. We hope that the price could increase,” he said with a hope. So he and other palm oil farmers hoped the attention from the government.
“Not every farmer has large palm oil plantation. Some of them have 2 or 4 plots only,” he said as quoted from Riau Pos. (T3)
