PAINAN –Palm oil fresh fruit in District of South Pesisir, West Sumatera significantly decreases again to be Rp 750 – Rp800/kg from the previous period which was Rp900/kg.
A palm oil farmer in Subdistrict of Lengayang, District of South Pesisir, Rido (28) said, in last several weeks, the farmers sold the fruit to the collectors about Rp900/kg but now, it is Rp750/kg.
The other farmer in Subdistrict of Lunang Silaut, Jamidin (48) said, he himself sold the fruit about Rp800/kg. “My plantation is 30 kilometers from the palm oil factory, but it is still Rp800/kilogram,” he said, Monday (4/5) as quoted from Antara Sumbar.
According to the Secretary of Plantation, Food and Horticulture Plantation, District of South Pesisir, Sudirman said, there are only three palm oil factories in the District. Two of them are operating but the other one is being built.
“We hope, after the one could operate, the fruit price will be more competitive,” he said.(T3)
