North Padang Lawas – The palm oil fruit price in North Padang Lawas decreases again to Rp1.220/kg than the previous period which reaching Rp1.560/kg. This makes palm oil farmers worried for the incomes get smaller while the daily needs get larger.
A farmer from Village of Sidingkat, Subdistrict of Padang Bolak, Pemuda Siregar (42) admitted, the decreasing fruit prices keeps happening in every week. But in last one month, it makes the farmers worried.
“The price decreases in every single week. It reaches Rp 1.220 per kg. It was Rp 1.560 about one month ago,” he said, Monday (26/4) as quoted from Metrosiantar.
The same thing was told by Batang Siregar (46) the owner of RAMZA in Village of Sigama, Subdistrict of Padang Bolak. He admitted, the decreasing price was drastically happens in some last weeks. He thought, though the decreasing price is in phase, but it hits the farmers. But if the price keeps maintaining, it is enough for the farmers. (T3)
