BENGKALIS –Plantation and Forestry Agency of Bengkalis asked the palm oil farmers in general and the farmers in Subdistrict of Manday in special to do replanting programme in the plantations they have.
Farmers’ plantation mostly use uncertified and unsuperior seeds. As the result, they are not maximally producing. So the Regional Government of Bengkalis, through Plantation Agency launched the project of superior seeds procurement to the qualified farmers.
“It is hoped, through the replanting programme, and changing certified superior seeds, the farmers will be wealthier,” head of UPTD, Bunhut Mandau through his staff, Vera Mustafa said, Thursday (17/4) as quoted from Riau Mandiri.
He continued, in 2015, the government of Bengkalis through Plantation and Forestry Agency has procured 5.000 superior palm oil stalks for Subdistrict of Mandau. The seeds will be given to the farmers who want to make replanting programme. (T3)
