JAKARTA – Some non government organization (NGOS) urged the government to run the decision of High Court No. 35/PUU – X?2012 which regulates the determination of indigenous region/people’s cultivation region/indigenous forest. So the forest regions which the people will get, about 12,7 millions hectares could be implemented.

Programme Manager, Partnership Sustainable Environment, Hasbi Berliani said, there has been power imbalance in the forest area. So it needs three steps to realize the target 12,7 millions hectares for the people.

The first, there should be firm policy which admits the indigenous people cultivation rights, such as, the President’s regulation or President’s Decision. The second, the cooperation of the central and regional governments should make  breakthrough to get the target. The third, give the budget more – now the budget reaching 0,6% from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry which was 8% from the previos time. He said, the cultivation of forest regions done by the people becomes one way to welfare them. (T2)
