InfoSAWIT, BEKASI – The Palm Oil Polytechnic of Citra Widya Edukasi (Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE) graduated 248 students in its latest commencement ceremony, with 86 graduates already entering the industry before receiving their degrees.
The graduates completed the Bachelor of Applied Science Cohort IV and Associate Degree Cohort XVIII programs at the Harris Hotel Convention Hall in Bekasi on Sunday (September 27, 2026).
Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE Director Nugroho Kristono said the graduates came from five study programs aligned with the needs of the plantation industry and its supporting sectors.
The graduating class included 69 students from the D3 Palm Oil Plantation Cultivation program, 69 from D3 Palm Oil Plantation Processing, and 70 from D3 Logistics Management.
Meanwhile, 38 students graduated from the D4 Plantation Crop Production Technology program and two from the D4 Software Engineering Technology program.
86 Graduates Already Working in the Industry
Nugroho said one important indicator of vocational education is how effectively graduates transition into the business and industrial sector.
In that regard, 86 graduates, or around 34% of the graduating class, had already been absorbed by industry before the graduation ceremony.
Among the companies employing the graduates are Wilmar Group, PT Triputra Agro Persada, PT Ciliandry Anky Abadi, PT Sumber Tani Agung and Hartono Plantation Indonesia Agro Group.
Other employers include PT Eagle High Plantation, PT Hamparan Sentosa, Widya Corporation, Julong Group Indonesia, TSH Resources Berhad, PT Surya Sawit Sejati, part of United Plantations Berhad, and ION Network.
Nugroho said the figure reflects industry confidence in the quality of vocational education provided by Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE.
The institution also continues to connect graduates with employment opportunities. Several companies, including Best Agro International, Wilmar Group, Citra Borneo Indah Group, PT Kalimantan Agro Sukses and Harmoni Group, were still conducting recruitment processes.
Beyond recruitment, cooperation between the campus and industry also includes internships and competency development.
Nugroho encouraged graduates to continue developing their technical and professional skills as technology and the plantation industry continue to evolve.
With 248 graduates entering the workforce, Poltek Kelapa Sawit CWE expects its alumni to contribute across the palm oil industry and its supporting sectors in Indonesia and internationally. (T2)
