InfoSAWIT, BELINYU – A new palm oil mill is being developed in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, with the investment expected to create jobs and generate new economic opportunities for communities around Belinyu.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the PT Bangka Mitra Mandiri Palm Oil Mill was held in Bukit Tulang Hamlet, Riding Panjang Village, Belinyu District, on Wednesday (September 16, 2026). The event was attended by the Bangka Regent, representatives of the local government and other stakeholders.
The project marks the beginning of a new industrial investment in the area. Beyond the construction of production facilities, the Bangka administration expects the project to contribute to regional economic activity through employment and business opportunities for local residents.
The Bangka Regent said incoming investment should deliver tangible benefits to surrounding communities. The development of industrial facilities, he added, needs to be accompanied by cooperation among companies, government authorities and local communities.
“We hope this investment will have a positive impact on the region and the community, particularly by creating jobs and economic opportunities for local residents,” the Regent said, as reported by InfoSAWIT, citing the Bangka Regency Government, on Saturday (September 26, 2026).
The local government also emphasized the importance of ensuring that investment development complies with applicable regulations and takes community interests into account.
The new palm oil mill is expected to stimulate economic activity in Belinyu, create employment opportunities and encourage the growth of supporting businesses. The project is now entering its initial construction phase following the groundbreaking ceremony.
For Bangka Regency, the investment represents an additional industrial activity that could strengthen the local economic base while opening new opportunities for communities around Riding Panjang Village. (T2)
