TELUK PANJI - PT Supra Matra Abadi (PT SMA - Asian Agri) recently socialized the partnership programme to independent farmers in Village Teluk Panji, Labuhanbatu.
The partnership programme is one corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of Asian Agri and it has been running since 2011 in the Negeri Lama Plantation and in 2014 in Asahan. Until now in North Sumatera, Asian Agri has guided the farmers having 4199 hectares area which consist of 3.313 hectares in Negeri Lama and 886 hectares in Asahan.
Regional Head Plantation I Sumut, Arusman Limbong, as quoted from Harian SIB, Thursday (9/4) said, Asian Agri is the pioneer company running partnership programme, that is, plasma pattern in Riau, and Jambi covering 60.000 hectares, consisting of 29.000 families.
“Asian Agri is the world class plantation company which commits to implement sustainable, environmental principles. This is known by the acceptance of RSPO, ISCC and ISPO,” he said.
The CSR Coordinator, Asian Agri, North Sumatera, Fajar Suryono explained, the goal of the programme is to increase the people’s understanding to cultivate palm oil, to increase the production and the fruit quality, to save the operational costs, to ensure the markets sustainability and the fruit legality for the company.
