InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) market opened the week on a softer note, with PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) recording withdrawals in its Monday tender, while palm oil futures in Malaysia also retreated amid profit-taking and weaker crude oil prices.

At the KPBN tender on Monday, August 24, 2026, the highest bid for Franco Dumai CPO reached Rp15,844 per kilogram, below the previous offer level. The tender was withdrawn, marking a decline of Rp44 per kg, or around 0.28%, from the highest bid of Rp15,888 per kg recorded on Friday, August 21.

FOB Talang Duku CPO was offered at Rp15,750 per kg and also ended in withdrawal, with the highest bid reaching Rp15,594 per kg.

Other KPBN tender locations also recorded withdrawals. Loco PKS Luwu was offered at Rp15,500 per kg, while CIF Gresik, CIF Kijing, and CIF Batam were each offered at Rp16,000 per kg.

The weaker domestic tender coincided with a decline in crude palm oil futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives. The market came under pressure as traders locked in profits following the previous week’s rally to a 20-month high, while falling global crude oil prices further weighed on vegetable oil sentiment.

The September 2026 CPO contract fell RM71 to RM4,720 per tonne. October declined RM75 to RM4,859 per tonne, while November dropped RM72 to RM4,946 per tonne.

December 2026 slipped RM64 to RM5,013 per tonne, January 2027 fell RM54 to RM5,064 per tonne, and February 2027 declined RM42 to RM5,099 per tonne.

Trading volume dropped sharply to 79,190 lots from 121,114 lots in the previous session. Open interest, however, edged higher to 343,401 contracts from 342,115.

In the physical market, September delivery CPO in southern Malaysia declined RM60 to RM4,710 per tonne.
