Riau Independent Smallholder FFB Prices Rise for August 5–11 Period

InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for independent oil palm smallholders in Riau Province increased for the pricing period of August 5–11, 2026, with nine-year-old palms recording the highest benchmark price of Rp3,936.63 per kilogram, up Rp23.35/kg from the previous period.

The increase was agreed upon by the Riau Provincial Independent FFB Pricing Team, as stipulated in FFB Price Determination Letter No. 28 for the August 5–11, 2026 period.

According to data compiled by InfoSAWIT from the Riau Provincial Plantation Agency, FFB prices vary according to the age profile of oil palm trees. Prices are set at Rp3,052.07/kg for three-year-old palms, Rp3,401.38/kg for four-year-old palms, Rp3,647.59/kg for five-year-old palms, Rp3,787.31/kg for six-year-old palms, Rp3,873.00/kg for seven-year-old palms, and Rp3,919.58/kg for eight-year-old palms.

For mature plantations, the benchmark reaches Rp3,936.63/kg at nine years of age, while palms aged 10–20 years are priced at Rp3,897.09/kg. Prices then gradually decline for older plantations, reflecting lower productivity as trees age.

The pricing formula for the current period is based on a crude palm oil (CPO) reference price of Rp15,777.52/kg, a palm kernel price of Rp15,528.00/kg, a shell value of Rp24.45/kg, and a K index of 92.40%, which is used in determining the final FFB benchmark for independent growers.

The provincial government noted that the published prices serve as official reference prices established by the regional pricing committee. Actual transaction prices received by farmers may differ depending on fruit quality, transportation costs, and local market conditions. (T2)
