Astra Agro Shares Best Operational Practices and Sustainability Commitment with Students

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) reaffirmed that best operational practices and sustainability commitments remain the foundation for maintaining the long-term viability of Indonesia’s palm oil business, both commercially and socially.

The statement was delivered by Mochamad Husni during a visit by the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UPN Veteran Jakarta as part of the Visit Emiten 2026 program in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The educational event is a regular KSPM initiative aimed at broadening students’ understanding of investment and corporate activities. During the visit, participants toured the publicly listed palm oil company under ticker code AALI to gain direct insight into its business operations and sustainability strategies.

KSPM 9.0 President Anugerah Putra Prasetyo said young investors need to understand that investing is not solely about market figures, but also about comprehending how a company’s business processes operate.

“As investors, we should not only focus on numbers, but also understand how business processes take place,” he said in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (May 14, 2026).

He added that direct visits to listed companies could help students better understand corporate fundamentals while broadening their perspectives on industry and investment.

Meanwhile, Visit Emiten 2026 Project Officer Dinda Suci Batalano explained that the event theme was chosen to help participants understand the importance of assessing investments from both business and sustainability perspectives.

“Through this educational visit, we hope participants can gain practical and in-depth learning experiences about industry and capital markets,” she said.

Dinda also expressed appreciation to Astra Agro for opening learning opportunities for students.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to PT Astra Agro Lestari for welcoming us and providing this learning opportunity today,” she added.

During the session, Husni noted that the Visit Emiten program forms part of the company’s commitment to educating younger generations about corporations, the palm oil industry, and capital markets.

According to him, students need to understand how companies manage operations, address industry challenges, and implement sustainability principles in daily business activities.

“We warmly welcome students from KSPM UPN Veteran Jakarta to PT Astra Agro Lestari. Through this visit, we hope participants will not only recognize the company from financial figures and reports, but also understand its business processes, governance, and commitment to sustainability and the environment,” Husni said.

He added that the company hopes the activity will provide students with broader perspectives on the working world and Indonesia’s plantation industry.

“We hope this program becomes a valuable learning experience and inspires students to continue developing their competencies and perspectives toward industry and investment,” he concluded. (T2)
