InfoSAWIT, YOGYAKARTA — The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) has successfully secured the Best Booth Decoration award at the Jogja Fashion Week (JFW) 2025, held at the Jogja Expo Center from August 7 to 10, 2025.
During this annual fashion exhibition, BPDP showcased a variety of palm oil-based fashion products created by its partner SMEs, including CV Smart Batik Indonesia, Jayanti Batik, and Cambiacraft Indonesia. The displayed products ranged from palm oil batik and palm leaf sandals to handicrafts and various accessories that highlight the added value of palm oil derivatives.
Murti Pagar Intan, Senior Staff of the Community Cooperation and SMEs Division at BPDP, explained that the agency's participation in JFW aims to introduce the potential of palm oil as a raw material for fashion and lifestyle products. “We want to educate the public that palm oil is very close to daily life, even appearing in fashion that can be worn 24 hours a day,” she stated in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Murti added that there are still vast opportunities for developing palm oil-based SME products. BPDP is also opening opportunities for SMEs to become partners, provided that the products produced are made from palm oil or its derivatives and have undergone a curation process.
In addition to showcasing products, BPDP organized various educational activities such as the Kahoot Palm Oil Games and a Makeup Challenge to introduce the benefits of palm oil to visitors. These activities successfully attracted over 400 participants who interacted directly at the BPDP booth.
This year’s 20th Jogja Fashion Week, organized by the DIY Department of Industry and Trade, carried the theme “Threads of Tomorrow,” emphasizing the role of fashion as a medium for sustainable change while remaining rooted in local cultural traditions. The exhibition featured 156 booths from various regions, including DIY, Aceh, Jakarta, Banjarmasin, Central Lampung, Surakarta, Semarang, South Kalimantan, Bandung, and Pekalongan.
Yuna Pancawati, Head of the DIY Department of Industry and Trade and Chair of the JFW 2025 Committee, expressed appreciation to all parties involved. “Thank you to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Bank Indonesia, BPD DIY, BPDP, and all sponsors for their support,” she said in a written report.
This year, JFW recorded pre-event, during-event, and post-event sales transactions (by order) reaching IDR 2.23 billion, an 8% increase compared to last year. The number of visitors also surged by 37% to 15,255 people. (T2)
