JAKARTA – Based on the meeting between Commission VII and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Wednesday night (4/2), it was approved that the subsidy of biodiesel is just Rp 4.000/liter and bioetahnol is Rp 3.000/liter.

The government once proposed to get subsidy Rp 5.000/liter which was Rp 1.500/liter in the first place. While for bioethanol, it became Rp 3.000/liter which was Rp 2.000/liter.

Chief of Commission VII, Legislators, Kardaya Warnika, as quoted from Detik said, the decision was made because Rp 5.000 which the government proposed was too much. But the decision is as same as the assumption of biodiesel price in the international trade.

“Like the global biodiesel price, the subsidy Rp 4.000 is enough. It is not necessary to give subsidy Rp 5.000,” he said.

But the subsidy proposal of bioethanol Rp 3.000/liter which the government makes is accepted by the Commission VII. “We agree to the subsidy Rp 4.000/liter and subsidy for bioethanol is Rp 3.000/liter,” he explained. (T3)
