SOUTH TAPANULI– A palm oil farmer inTarapung Village, Subdistrict of MuaraBatang Toru, District of South Tapanuli(Tapsel) said that the farmers’ fruit production decreased.
He thought, their plantations produced 1 ton to 1,5 tons/ hectare. “But now it is no more,” he said, Friday, (16/1).
He also mentioned, as quoted from Medan Bisnis, it is not known yet why the decreasing production happens. It is assumed that the pests attack the plants.
“I am affraid, the pests attack the plants and this makes the long term fruit production. Years ago, the decreasing production was only 3 to 4 months only,” he said. (T3)
