MAMUJU – The plans of government of West Sulawesi to build crude palm oil (CPO) palm oil factory (POF) without having plantations was protested by Karossa Students Association, (HIPPMA KAROSSA), District of Central Mamuju, West Sulawesi.
HIPPMA KOAROSSA thought, the plan will postpone palm oil enlargement in West Sulawesi.
“There will be lots of negative effects if the factory keeps being built, especially in District of Central Mamuju relating to the commercial mass of palm oil fruit, the villagers economy will break down, and there will be palm oil thefts,” Coordinator of HIPPMA KAROSSA, Hasanuddin said to some media in West Sulawesi, Friday (16/1)
He described, the raising palm oil fruit will trigger the farmers to be in partnership with the private company to sell the fruit to their crude palm oil factory without have no plantations. The CPO factory will have limited materials.
If they increase the price, the company having some plantations will be lack of stocks for their partners sold in better price to the factory having no plantation. This will make, the farmers’ credits will not be cut off by the partner company and the Villagers Coperation which becomes the connector betweeen the farmers and the company, will not be useful again.
Hasanuddin continued, the CPO factory without having no plantation will trigger the stealing of fruit for the factory will buy the fruit without considering where the fruit comes or derives from.(T3)
