PENAJAM – Turning over the agriculture area in District of North Penajam Paser into palm oil plantation is not wrong at all. Chief of Commission II, Legislator of North Penajam Paser, Syamsuddin Ali, Wednesday (7/1) as quoted from Antara Kaltim said, though there are some regulations forbidding it, but the farmers turning over their area are not false at all for there is no irrigation to water their field rice field. Irrigation is one problem since North Penajam Paser was made from District of Paser in 2002.
“Irrigation has been a very long problem so that the farmers turn over their field into palm oil. It is normal. So to prevent the turning over, there should be irrigation for their fields,” he said. (T3)
