PEKANBARU –Head of Plantation Agency in Riau Province said, 22 of 187 palm oil companies get Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO).
“There are 22 companies having certificate as the pre requirement to export palm oil and 44 others are being in process,” he said in Monday, (5/1), as quoted from RRI.
Furthermore, he emphasized, the companies which were not proposing the certificates will have difficulties to trade their products in International markets. But it will be possible too that the companies having no certificates will sell it to the companies having certificates.
ISPO is mandatory for palm oil companies operating in Indonesia. It is different from Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) which is not mandatory, but it is for the global companies. (T3)
