JAKARTA - Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) is officially has endorsed by world leading and reliable certification system, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
PEFC is a global organization based in Geneva and has give more than 264 million hectares forest certification from 15,804 companies (CoC).
IFCC Chairman, Drajad H Wibowo stated, all this time people often polarizing between forest conservation with the economic development. IFCC certification standard endorsed by PEFC can be the effective tools to driven the management of sustainable forest along with keep the exports of forest products and its derivatives.
“ Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) is a market tools as a voluntary so that there were no any disagreement with SVLK required by the government,” he said in the event of launching and seminar of Sustainable Forest Management and Chain of Custody (CoC) IFCC Certification Scheme in Jakarta, on Thursday (11/12/2014).
He added to explain, the PEFC/IFCC certification inaugurated due to the demand from world multinational and retail companies who are want to show to their consumers that they only buy from good management forest products such are paper, furniture, and others.
“So that the IFCC certified products will labeling with PEFC in order it can be sold in international company scale such as Wallmart. We invite all of stakeholders gather together in keeping and monitoring the credibility of IFCC certification,” he said. (T3)
