PEKANBARU – Head of Agriculture Agency of Riau Province, Zulher stated, flood that occurs in almost all over Riau areas making loss for independent farmers mainly for palm oil and rubber farmers.
The flood is causing the fruits are rotten due to the flooding, besides it also damages the road and being cannot be accessed.
“The flood, in this year, is spreading into riverbanks of Rokan, Kampar, Kuantan and Indragiri. By this flood, the farmers cannot sell their harvested-FFBs cause it have been flooding and rotten or the transportation access closed,” he said, recently, as published by Go Riau.
If the flood is continuing, Zulher added, it is possible the farmer’s economy also being worse. (T3)
