JAKARTA – Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) on Environmental and Climate Change, Shinta W Kamdani stated, Indonesia needs a commitment in reducing greenhouse gas emission due to the absence of mutually agreed calculation.
Indonesian Presdient, Joko Widodo has prepared Green Budget Planning concept giving acceleration towards Indonesia’s greener and sustainable development as the support for Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)’ commitment which is delivered in United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Kopenhagen about the intention of Indonesia in reducing greenhouse gases until 26% in 2020.
As the reflection of the effort, KADIN welcomed by formed an organization named Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) which will be the pioneer for sustainable development in multi-sector businesses.
“By repairing the efforts in implementation of green work planning to date, the government now pretty sure for greener life standards in Indonesia as the main basic in reducing carbon emission and preventing climate change can be reached,” she said, as cited by MetroTV News, on Wednesday (03/12/3014).
