KUALA LUMPUR – The less of absorbs Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) physically, more caused by the variety of palm oil products. Stated by Surina Ismail, a Global Director, IP & Knowledge Management, Emery Oleochemicals, the effect from many variety of palm oil, complicates the oleochemicals producers to absorb 100% CSPO physically.

Surina cited, to make a shampoo product needs about 6 variant of palm oil downstream product. Consequently by the chemical variant contents of palm oils cause the company is complicates to absorb CSPO, besides a difficult logistics process.

But, it won’t happen by palm oil plantations which have been integrated to their downstream industries, such what doing by Sime Darby and Emery Oleochemicals.

 Surina stated, Emery has absorbed Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) from Sime Darby that has been certified, connected by pipe-line system. “If the company is integrated from upstream to downstream will absorb CSPO easily,” she said in Kuala Lumupr, on Wednesday (19/11). (T2)
