KUALA LUMPUR - United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which is aims to increasing the global realizing about sustainable palm oil.
The deal as the framework of cooperation and facilitates in market transformation to make a sustainable palm oil norm. Besides, aims to produce market demand for potential commodity to role a main part in conserving biodiversity.
“We expects by cooperating politics and institution resources will give a value added to the efforts done by society groups, NGOs, national authority and business community leaders,” said the Vice General Secretary and Executive Director of UNEP, Achmin Steiner, in a joint statement, quoted by Bernama, on Friday (14/11/2014).
He added, palm oil sector can give a leadership about how to use global market place to repair production design and green transition, also more inclusive economics. (T3)
