JAKARTA – The coordinator of Association of Palm Oil Farmers (SPKS), Mansuetus Darto Alyshanu, stated that the independent farmers have a big commitment in saving the Indonesian forest and peats.
“I expect the commitment will actualize the target of zero deforestation for the independent farmers by the increasing the productivity value, the capacity also strengthen the legality,” he said, in Jakarta, on Monday (10/11/2014).
He added to state, based on data of General Directorate of Agriculture in Agriculture Ministry, in 2013 the land-wide of small scale farmers reach 5.8 million hectares. The detailing is the 4 million hectares of independent plantation and 1.8 million of plasma plantation. With the wide average is in 2ha/household. (T3)
