Bangunrejo Palm Oil Farmers Utilized Palm Oil Sticks to be Brooms

GUNUNG SUGIH -  The palm oil farmers in Bangunrejo, Central Lampung, complaining about palm oil plantations harvest are declining due to drought and hail of El-nino storms that hit Indonesia in recent months.

A farmer in Sidoluhur village, Istiqomah (34), as reported by Lampost, on Thursday (06/11/2014), said the declining of palm oil crops causes a decrease in income. “Our economy depends on palm oil harvesting,” she said.

That’s why, she said, the villagers now only rely on palm oil sticks to made into brooms. “To fulfill the daily needs, I have to think creative by utilized palm oil sticks to make brooms.” Said Istiqomah. (T3)
