BAGAN SINEMBAH - Although the selling price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of palm oil in Rokan Hilir (Rohil) down, but the local farmers still making these commodities as the mainstay of livelihood.
Enthusiastic farmers to cultivating palm oil can be seen from the balance sheet of the western region Riau plantations year by year, the area and production are increasing.
“Although the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of pal oil in the state dropped to below Rp 1,000 per kilogram (kg), compared to prices in January 2014 in the range of above Rp 1,500 per kg. however, the farmers are still eager to cultivating it,” said the Head of Agriculture Agency Rohil regency, Syahril, as published by Gagasan Riau, Wednesday (05/11/2014).
