MEDAN – There were only 7 palm oil plantations in North Sumatera which have Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate from the total of 340 plantations owned by 201 companies and 29 groups. This according to the statement from Head Officer of Agriculture Agency of North Sumatera, Herawati, Tuesday (28th October 2014).
Excerpting from Medan Bisnis Daily, the seven plantations which have bagging ISPO certificate were from five companies, there were Blankahan plantation owned by PT United Kingdom Indonesia, Sei Musam plantation owned by PT Musang Utjing, Simpang Ampat plantation owned by PT Simpang Ampat, Halaban plantation oned by PT SMART, and PT MP Leidong West by Adipati, Pemantian, and Kanopan Ulu plantations.
“The rest of the plantations which still not having ISPO certificate were so much, besides there were also seven companies still in processing to get ISPO certificate,” said Herawati. (T3)
