WASHINGTONS– The promise of four palm oil companies in the spare time in United Nations (UN) Climate Summit, 2014 – not to damage the environment in their businesses is appreciated by President of Indonesian Republic, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. But the government will keep monitoring their commitments.
"The government monitors. We will ask the non government organizations (NGOs) to help so they could really realize it,” he said in his press conference in Willard Intercontinental, Washingtons DC, Saturday (27/9/2014).
He also explained, the companies have implemented sustainability for such a long time. Beside that he emphasized, Indonesia commits not to damage environment.
"I once complained the accusation. We thought, if the world has doubts, we cooperated with Green Peace. If the accusation is not right, why the complain is not told to the world that palm oil is not damaging,” he said as written in Medan Bisnis. (T3)
