KUALA LUMPUR – Economic, Social Board (ECOSOC) United Nations (UN) gives ‘special consultative status’ in Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The status has been started from May 2014, which RSPO could be involved to the UN Secretariat actively, such as, ECOSOC and other representatives.
ECOSOC is one component in the UN which handles the problems relating to economic and social development. "We are thankful the UN, especially ECOSOC for giving us chances to contribute in global purposes,” General Secretary of RSPO Darrel Webber said in his written information which InfoSAWIT recently accepted.
Darrel continued, RSPO would be the most important institution to support ECOSOC relating to agricultural and sustainable commodity. (T3)
