JAKARTA – Palm oil enlargements where many investors do are in the indigenous areas. So if the Draft of Undang-Undang Pengakuan dan Perlindungan Masyarakat Hukum Adat (RUU PPMHA) is officially announced, the enlargement will continue until the licence ends.
Staff of Secretary of Forestry in Regulations, I Made Subadia Gelgel said, if palm oil plantations are in the indigenous area and they are having the licence, the investor could cultivate palm oil until the licence ends. “The licence has its limits. But if the indigenous people wants their area, there should be negotiation,” he recently said to InfoSAWIT in Jakarta.
I Made Subadia continued, when the state licence is given to the businessmen, but then the indigenous people admit that the area belongs to them, the licence will end as the limit time. “After the area is admitted, the businessmen could pay the compensation,” he said. (T3)
